Trek to Bharmour over Indrahara pass is a mountain pass in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. Located at an altitude of 4342 metres/14,245 ft above sea level, near the tourist town of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. Indrahar pass forms the border between Kangra and Chamba districts. The trek starts from the small Town, Mcleodganj, situated in the outskirts of Dharamshala and goes up to Indrahar Pass. The trail passes through the famous Triund, Ilaqapass and Lahesh Caves. The ridges over the Dhauladhar do not lend themselves to easy trekking. Trek to the Indrahar pass is no exception, even though it follows one of the more established trails used by the Gaddi shepherds enroute to their summer grazing pastures in the upper Ravi Valley and Lahaul. The ascent to the Indrahar Pass involves a continual climb often over gibber or boulders. In the south are spectacular views of the Indian plains; to the north are the sacred peak of Mani Mahesh Kailash and the snow capped Pir Panjal Range.
After breakfast at our own we meet up at the start point which is Manu Adventures India Bhagsunag. From herewe start our trek to Leta We cross the upper Bhagsu Village to reach the famous waterfall. It takes roughly 20 to 25 mins to reach the waterfall where we stop to click some pics and one can also enjoy some hot meals like eggs and bread or hot spicy Maggie with cup of tea at the Chill out Shiva Cafe. Then we cross the waterfall and start our steep climb for Leta campsite. The guide will keep you entertained by telling stories about the place to ensure that you enjoy the walk and not get bored. The beautiful natural trail will keep you on your toesand walking on these trails will hold your interest throughout the tour. On reaching the campsite you can leave your bags off and feel more relaxed and trek further to get panoramic views of Shivalik Hills and plains of Kangra Valley. Enjoy dinner near the bonfire with some soothing music. Spend time under the star studded night while enjoying the warmth of bonfire. Overnight stay at camps
We trek from Leta to Laka Glacier (3200 mt) via Triund in the morning. We pass through Snowline Café approx 1.5 Hour from Triund) and Ilaqa Got at another two hour. We reach the campsite and are free to explore around the area. Overnight stay in camps with dinner
The trek to pass goes over soft in early summer and rocky in monsoons. The trek unto pass is a steep climb. Fogy weather with zero visibility obstructs the movement of climbers and on such occasions it is advisable to stay back and wait for the weather to get clear. The trek during April and May is tougher due to presence of hard ice. On reaching the top the pass one can see the Pir Panjal ranges very clearly. The other side of the pass remains snow covered till the middle of July. The trek descends down and reaches Chata Parao, beautiful green pasture and is most ideal for camping.
The stretch up to Chata nullah is 6km descent and after crossing the stream, walk over a long pasture land before entering into a thick forest of pine trees. Kwarsi is a small tribal village surrounded by thickly wooded pine trees. Night stay in the village and enjoy hospitality of the villagers.
From Kwarsi the trail goes through dense forest of pine trees. At some places the trail is cut through huge rock and is very narrow. After crossing Hilling and lamu villages on the way, it takes around three hours to reach the road head and after walking 2 km on the road cross the Ravi river to enter into Siur village. Night stay in the tents.
Passing through several tribal villages reach Bharmaur in about three hours. Bharmaur is a beautiful village with a few guest houses and is well connected by road to Chamba town.

Each day was a treat, starting with a hot drink to our tent and ending with stories and laughter around the campfire. And the food!!! Just amazing to see what Indian delights came out to us each morning and evening.
And the trekking was fab as well !! The scenery was spectacular and the hiking through a variety of terrains was nicely paced. We walked through small villages, crossed rivers, traversed hillsides and climbed up and down steep mountain paths. Even had a dip in a Himalayan stream! The guides experience and local knowledge opened up a special and hidden world that we were so lucky to access. Manu and his brother Ranu were just so obliging and kind, nothing was ever too much trouble and everything was done with a generosity of spirit and wide smile.
Two weeks later I am still full of the joy and colour of the experience and feel so refreshed by it. We were welcomed warmly into Manu’s family and treated like royalty. Not sure I’ll ever have another experience like it. Thank you Manu Adventures for the best holiday ever.
