Shimla offers much more than charming colonial buildings against a backdrop of the magnificent snow capped Himalayas. In 1864 Shimla was declared as the summer capital of India, later it became the capital of Punjab and finally it became the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The Ridge

The Ridge is a scenic pedestrian promenade located in the center of the Shimla, which also connects all the major tourist attractions of the town such as Mall Road with Scandal Point. Situated along the Mall road, this tourist attraction is the ebst hangout place in Shimla. With restaurants, trendy cafes and bars lining the Ridge, it serves as a social hub for travelers. Among the many interesting spots along the ridge Christ Church is the most popular. The neo gothic style place of worship is the second oldest of its kind in North India and has been in existence since 1857.

Mall Road
The Mall road is the best place for shopping in Shimla which truly celebrates the spirit of hill town. The Mall Road is the place for everyone, the charm and beauty of the Mall Road can be enjoyed by everyone be it family, friends honeymooners etc. The government runs emporiums and several private outlets. The main street is lined up with the restaurants, clubs, banks, shops, post offices and tourist offices. The stores on the Mall Road are famous for their woolen clothes, handicrafts, wooden articles and antiques. Other than shopping, Shimla Mall Road is also famous for its variety of cafes and delicious delicacies. People can walk up and down the Mall Road slowly and enjoy the scenic views of the nature while sipping their favorite coffee. Jakhoo Hill
Jakhoo hills are the highest peak in Shimla. Just outside 2 km from the city center Jakhoo hill offers unbeatable views of the snow capped mountains and the whole hills station. Jakhoo hill is among the best places to visit in Shimla, situated at the height of 8,000 feet above sea level. The short trek to the top is exhausting but so much fun. Once you reach the top you can enjoy the uninterrupted Panoramic views that do justice to the surreal beauty of this Himalayan hill station. This spot draws numerous nature admirers and pilgrims. The 118 feet Tall statute of Lord Hanuman, is one of the biggest attraction here and it is also equipped with sensor to drive away the birds.

Kufri

Kufri derives its name from word ‘Kufr’ which means lake. Situated near the Himalayan range, Kufri is a picturesque hills station situated 20 km from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Kufri is also popular among trekkers and it is also the starting point of treks to Manali. The cool pleasant climate along with stunning natural beauty makes Kufri a perfect summer gateway. The Summer Hill is now known as a town and the popular Shimla- Kalka Railway line passes through it.
