Located in the heart of city square Mcleodganj is Tibet kitchen, it is undoubtedly one of the finest restaurant in the town. The Tibetan community has such rich culinary heritage, an dthat is evident in the cafes and the retrauants that dot the town. One such place is Tibet Kitchen, it is much loved for its menu that has traditional Tibetan and Bhutanese food such as thentuk, gundruk sadeko, shabalay( fried meat pie) momos and much more. It is small cozy place, the interiors are tastefully done with opulent furniture and wooden work, making it a great place to unwind after a tiring day. Despite the relatively low price the quality of food is exceptional and the portions are very generous. A pleasant experience all in all. Open 9am to 9pm.
Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen:
This is one of the most famous Italian Café in Mcleodganj. Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen is a family run restaurant serving Italian food since 2001. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with a warm and friendly staff. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as Pizza, pasta, risotto, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The best part is all the sauces, breads, cakes are all homemade. The food no doubt is heavenly, but do keep some space for the deserts, which are equally good like tiramisu. Whether you are looking for a casual meal or special occasion, Jimmy Italian Kitchen is perfect place to enjoy a delicious Italian meal.
Shiva café:
Shiva café is a must visit place if you happen to be in Mcleodganj. You can access Siva café over the waterfall top. It is a busy café and you might even have to wait to get a seat. The hippie culture of small hamlet called Mcleodganj has made Shiva Café synonymous to the place. The blissful ambience will take you into trance and you will be lost amongst the scenic beauty of the Bhagsu nag waterfall that lies in proximity. This bakery patisserie serves a variety of pure vegetarian sweets. It is located at the basement of Balck Magic restaurant, providing a tranquil ambiance. Woeser Bakery was started in 2012 and since then has been servicing a variety of delicious baked goods to the customers. The café serves variety of vegetarian treats such as cakes, pastries, cookies, snacks, puddings, cheesecakes and mousse. A special quality of this warm bakery is its owner’s friendliness, who claims to have worked hard to perfect the magic recipe of carrot cake in Dharamsala. It’s a must try in Mcleodganj and don’t forget to try their handmade cappuccino with walnut tart.
Trek and Dine:
It is a casual dining outlet, in Dharamkot that offers a unique dining experience since 1997. It is the place where you can enjoy delicious cuisines from all over the world. It is one of the oldest food joints in the town, Moonpeak Expresso is almost like another major attraction near the Dalai Lama Temple. While the café is more about fresh juices, coffee, shakes, mojitos and an interesting variety of cocktails, Himachali Thali is a star attraction of the restaurant.
