  • Day 1: Dharamshala – Kareri Village – Kareri Lake (Trek: 13 km / 6-7 hours)

    Arrive at Kareri Village, a two-hour drive from Dharamshala, where the trek begins. Hike through dense pine forests, cross wooden bridges, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range. The scenic trail leads to Kareri Lake (2,934m), a pristine alpine lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Upon arrival, explore the tranquil surroundings and enjoy the serenity of nature. As the sun sets, relish a warm dinner and spend the night in tented accommodation under the stars.

  • Day 2: Kareri Lake – Kareri Village – Dharamshala (Trek: 13 km / 5-6 hours)

    Wake up to a spectacular sunrise over the lake and enjoy a refreshing breakfast. Spend some time soaking in the peaceful ambiance before starting the descent back to Kareri Village, retracing the picturesque trail. Upon reaching the village, drive back to Dharamshala, concluding the trek with unforgettable memories of the Himalayas.

A number of state-owned and private buses connect McLeod Ganj with other cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, and Dharamshala. Pathankot Railway Station, situated approximately 90 km away, is the closest broad gauge railhead serving those headed to McLeod Ganj.
