Compared to more frequented hikes in Himachal Pradesh, Thatharana is more secluded and gives you an opportunity to connect with nature.
Arrive Dharamshala and drive 8km to reach Kharota village from where your trek begins. The trek starts from Khrota Village, Dharamshala and it takes 3-4 hour (varies with pace & trail & people) to reach, to the height of 2,700 meters for the day it starts from a healthy breakfast at Khrota Village ( at your own) to tease your taste bud & get you charge for the day ahead. Travelling with a passionate and knowledgeable guide (or in a small group), you'll trek through dense forest alive with chirr and and chilgoza pines. The track is tough, requiring attention but is worth it in providing beautiful views of the Kangra Valley and Dhauladhar Ranges. Once you arrived at the campsite after the 4-hour hike, you’ll be welcomed with refreshing tea a lovely break after the trek. Dusk falls and the campsite becomes a snug retreat. Relax around a crackling bonfire, sharing stories and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Spend a night under a star-filled sky, free of city lights creating an unforgettable experience. Sit down in the warmth of your hot dinner by the bonfire and then rest in comfortable camps or huts, a lovely rustic experience in the lap of the mountains.Or fall asleep to the gentle sounds of nature, recharging your body and mind for the adventures to come. This day is the beginning of a beautiful trekk to make this trekk even more memorable this day has great combination of physical challenge along with natural beauty and to unwind.
Morning Bliss Start your day with a wholesome breakfast while looking at the beautiful sun over the Dhauladhar Ranges and Kangra Valley. It is a peaceful way to bid adieu to the aesthetics of Thatharana. Trek Back to Khrota Village. The return trek down, from summit to base (3-5 hours), winds you back through the rainforest trails, but seen this time from different angles, different perspectives of those breathtaking landscapes you have conquered on Day 1. The downward journey is buoyed with musings on the treks highlights and the bonds formed during the adventure. Khrota Village Arrival – End of your trek, back to the base. Bid adieu to your group but carry the refreshing energy of the mountains and the amazing memories of the unspoilt beauty of the Thatharana region. Hiking on this day is a perfect end to the long trek; a day of reflection and tranquility; the perfect Himalayan getaway.
