HIMACHAL ON FOOT · DELHI & AGRA
Follow Himalayan shepherd trails from Kangra towards Chamba, spend time in Dharamshala and finish at the Taj Mahal. An 11-day guided journey combining mountain camping, Tibetan culture and India’s Mughal heritage.
DELHI → DHARAMSHALA → JALSU PASS → CHAMBA → AGRA → DELHI
11 days / 10 nights · 5 trekking days · Delhi to Delhi
Delhi–Pathankot return train tickets and sleeping bags included.
The Jalsu Pass trek follows a traditional route between the Kangra and Chamba valleys. Forest paths open into grazing meadows, with camping nights and an unhurried introduction to the landscape associated with Himachal’s Gaddi communities.
This is the 11-day holiday with Delhi and the Taj Mahal, not a short trek-only package. You will have five trekking days within a wider itinerary that includes Dharamshala, rail journeys and Agra.
Confirm monument entry fees, train class and baggage allowance in your personalised quote before booking.

Your quote depends on travel dates, group size, accommodation and train availability. Tell us your plans for a tailored itinerary.
We use your details to respond to your enquiry. Read our privacy policy.
Expect consecutive walking days, sustained climbs and descents, uneven paths and basic camping. Good fitness and comfort outdoors matter more than speed. Share your trekking experience so we can advise on suitability.
A practical outline of the full journey. Named camps, daily walking times and train details are confirmed for your departure rather than presented as fixed promises.
Meet the team’s representative and transfer to your hotel. Rest after your journey and review the holiday arrangements. Any sightseeing depends on your arrival time.
Travel on the included Delhi–Pathankot rail sector and continue by road to Dharamshala. The confirmed train service determines departure time, arrival time and the sequence of the first two nights; your final itinerary will show these clearly.
Spend time around McLeodganj’s Tibetan neighbourhoods and temple complex. Local visits may include Bhagsunag and St John in the Wilderness, with time to prepare your trekking kit.
Travel towards the Kangra-side starting point. Meet your trekking crew, check equipment and settle into the planned pre-trek accommodation or camp.
Leave the road behind and walk through lower forest and village landscapes towards the first trail camp. Follow the guide’s pace and carry your day essentials.
Continue along the approach to Jalsu Pass. The landscape becomes more open as you gain height. Camp placement depends on water, weather and current trail conditions.
Make the main pass crossing when conditions allow, then descend towards the Chamba side. This is a demanding mountain day; the guide may adjust timing or the route for the group and weather.
Walk down through meadow and forest landscapes towards the villages below the pass. Enjoy a final trekking night with arrangements confirmed in your departure itinerary.
Complete the walk to the roadhead and transfer towards Pathankot for the return train to Delhi. Any stop in Chamba is subject to road conditions and the train schedule.
On arrival in Delhi, continue to Agra for the Taj Mahal visit and a hotel stay. The visit order is adjusted around train timings and the Taj Mahal’s Friday closure.
Return to Delhi by road for your onward journey. Agree a suitable flight time with us before booking, allowing a generous buffer for traffic and travel delays.
Planning note: mountain weather, trail access and rail availability can change the sequence. The Taj Mahal is closed to visitors on Fridays.

Ask us to check current pass access before you book. Snow can restrict the crossing early or late in the season; monsoon rain can make paths slippery and disrupt road travel. A green meadow photograph is not a guarantee of suitable trekking conditions on your dates.
Bring broken-in trekking boots, a daypack, waterproof layers, warm clothing, a headtorch, sun protection, refillable water bottles and personal toiletries. Sleeping bags and mattresses are included; ask about their suitability for your departure and whether you prefer to bring a liner.
Expect simple mountain camps rather than hotel-style facilities. Mobile coverage and charging cannot be relied on along the route. Confirm the carried-baggage allowance, water arrangements and emergency plan with the team. Keep essential documents, personal medication and valuables in your daypack.
Bring the mountain walk and the wider India journey together through one planning team. We coordinate the trekking crew, camp equipment, included train sectors and the road-and-hotel itinerary, with a written quote tailored to your group. Meet our team and ask us about your route before committing.
